The Coat of Arms of the Austrio-Hungarian period
The emblem of the Austrian period looks
like a per pale sield. In the right half there is an Austrian emblem of
Galychyna, that is a sable jackdaw with furled wings in an azure field. Under
the jackdaw there are three crowns. In the left half you see the emblem of the
Potots'kyi's - "Pilava".
The town was mentioned
for the first time in chronicles in
1143. In 1449 it was given the Magdeburg Right.
